The Origin of the Specious has learned of a questionable rumour regarding current police efforts to battle crime. The apparent background to this development is to enable all officers to immobilise suspects without placing their knees on suspects’ necks. This new directive is aimed at eliminating future complaints that result in the suspension of police officers and the reduction in forces.
Apparently, going forward, the new protocol will be for officers to reduce contact – especially aggressive contact – with suspects. Police will now be told to use tasers all the time instead of physical force.
If true, this must be part of our living in a more civilised and sensitive time.
Nothing says civilized & sensitive, than electrical shocks coursing through one’s body! 😉
